A Local Author's Book at CPL

This week’s Gates-Chili Post has an article about local resident Helen Frey who co-authored “God’s Shining Jewels” with her husband Marvin Frey. Mr. Frey who wrote hundreds of inspirational songs, among them “Kum Ba Yah”. If you would like to read her book, the library owns the title, call number 269.2092 F893g.

Bubble Gum Blowing Contest

Children Love Their Summer Time Reading!

To help celebrate all the good reading children took part in during the Summer Reading program, 200 kids attended the annual Truck Show at the library. There they saw up close construction equipment from the Town of Chili as well as a two fire trucks, a dump truck, and some antique farm tractors. Here Jenn Lindsey and her son Matthew try out some equipment.

Our children’s Summer Reading program was particularly successful this year. 706 children took part, more than any other year. They read 240,065 minutes of reading!

Adult Reader's Love Their Summer Reading!

Vangie Morrow, head of the Circulation Department awards Bill Donahue a $50 certificate to the Johnson House paid for by the Friends of the Chili Public Library. His Name was drawn as the grand prize winner of Chili Public Library Adult Summer Reading. This year adult readers read 3,839 books for the summer reading program.. Last year the total books read/entered was 742. Many thanks go to our adult programmer Patty Bruno and the circulation clerks for their enthusiasm and cheerleading.

Donated Games

When the teen librarian put a call out to the community for games to be donated to the library, you responded in full. The library received games from 'Jeopardy' to 'Sorry' to 'Life' and will be using for its summer gaming programs for teens.
