CPL Pet Show

Put together five dogs, two cats, two guinea pigs, a pigeon, a turtle, and a fish and what do you have? The Chili Public Library Pet Show which was held today at 11am. The children spoke in front of an audience of 65 and described what makes their pet special. Each pet received an award, from most obedient to best swimmer.

The Children's Musical Group Meatballs Visits The Library


Kids had a super time last Wednesday when Meatballs, the children's music group came to library. There was plenty of singing and dancing, ending with the kids following our children's librarian in a Conga line around the Ireland Room. Next Wednesday the Magic Guy makes a visit.

Summer Reading For Kids


While the children's librarian is having a program tonight, I am working at the children's reference desk. A young girl just rushed into the room with her father, ran over to the container where we keep the daily entries for the summer reading program and exclaimed,

"Oh my gosh, look at all the tickets! Kids must be doing a lot of reading. Kids must love to read!"

I could not have said it better myself.

Beach Blanket Bingo


Win prizes while doing one of your favorite activities, reading. Book Bingo for adults forms are at the library. For library lovers ages 18 and up. Each Book Bingo form has six reading activities you can check off to complete a full row in any direction: horizontal, diagonal, or vertical. For example, listen to an audio book, read a book about animals, a suspense novel, browse our Local History section, and watch a video or DVD will get you a prize. All entries must be returned to the Reference Desk by August 6. Every participant who returns a completed entry will receive a prize. One Bingo per person.
