Perhaps no place in any community is so totally democratic as the town library. The only entrance requirement is interest. - Lady Bird Johnson

Busy Day at the Library

4:19pm today. What a great day for the library. I have just taken a walk around the library. All of the public computers are occupied; patrons are checking-out books smoothly at the circulation desk; both reference desks are helping patrons find their information; the Storytime Room is full with children taking part in Books N’Nibbles, and a Girl Scout troop is using the Ireland Room.
Earlier in the day tweens were busy making dog toys, and in the afternoon the Ireland Room was filled with excited kids reading to therapy dogs. Tonight children will be connecting with parents as they make their own birdfeeders.

This is what libraries are meant to do, provide for the informational, recreational and educational needs of the community. On days like today, staff roll up their sleeves and they do what needs to be done.
